Watercolour Landscapes in the studio with Andrew Dockerill (Cambridge)

A fun and informative workshop where you will complete a full landscape painting in watercolour in the studio, working from landscape photographs.

Starting from the basics we will cover composition, colour mixing and a step-by-step process to build up the painting using "layers".

The workshop will cover:

1. Materials and brushstrokes.

2. Importance of composition and tonal studies.

3. Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques.

4. Creating depth with atmospheric perspective.

5. Limited colour palettes.

6. Texture techniques including masking and resist.

Andrew Dockerill is a local artist with 34 years of experience painting in Watercolour. More recently Andrew has been teaching workshops and art courses at Haddenham Art Centre and demonstrating to community groups.
