Sketching Urban Tapestry in Pen and Ink with Debora Cane (Cambridge)
This course investigates our understanding of the urban environment and looks at the connections between things: buildings have to nestle in together, walls adjoin each other, roof lines tend to be the same height, doors and windows tend to be of similar proportions. There is a rhythmic regularity to the view and a collection of these regularities defines the particular character of a place. We’ll start by taking some photos in King Street, close to the Tindalls shop, from which we will assemble compositions back at the studio (you will need your smartphone or tablet to take your own photos). Lots of fun and suitable for everyone.
