Rebecca Lyne is an artist who has studied and developed figurative drawing from the European Art ateliers and conceptual art schools for many years. She has taught figurative studies to artists and 3D game designers across the world.
This master class will give you comprehensive construction techniques and an understanding of human anatomy needed for figurative drawing. This is a technical class, suitable for those with an existing basic drawing skill that want to enhance their ability to understand, construct and render figurative drawing.
• Learn anatomy for artists and how identify muscle forms and structure.
• Learn proportion, construction, balance, and tension.
• See how the anatomy changes during movement.
• How planes of form can be represented through the treatment of light and tone.
Working from reference images and from life, we will cover the following topics in detail over the course of the two days:
Anatomy
Male and Female torso (front and back)
Arms and Legs, Hands and Feet, Head, Proportion, Foreshortening
Gesture
Balance, Centre of gravity, Movement and Rhythm, Contrapposto, Narrative and Composition, Use of line
Dressing the Structure
Light, Shadow, Planes and Form modelling, Clothing
